The Tennessee Titans are honoring safety Jamal Adams’ request to be released, his agents Kevin Conner and Robert Brown confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Adams was reportedly unhappy with his role on the team. His release comes on his 29th birthday.

The LSU product was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list with a hip issue ahead of Tennessee’s Week 6 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Adams is healthy and is looking forward to his next opportunity, Schefter reports.

The three-time Pro Bowl defensive back signed with the Titans as a free agent on a veteran minimum deal. He played just 20 snaps over three games before being placed on the reserve list, according to the Nashville Post’s John Glennon.

Adams recorded four tackles in his brief stint in Tennesee.
