The WNBA is continuing to trend upward.
Wednesday’s Game 2 playoff contest between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun on ESPN was the league’s most viewed game on cable, delivering 2.5 million viewers while peaking at 3.4 million, according to ESPN PR.
The Sun took down Caitlin Clark and the Fever, who have been a major draw for audiences this season.
The Minnesota Lynx’s victory over the Phoenix Mercury drew 1.2 million viewers after the Fever-Sun contest, peaking with 2.1 watchers – the league’s third-most-viewed postseason game on ESPN, according to the network.
The first round averaged 1.1 million viewers, making it the most-viewed opening round ever across all networks.
The semifinals begin Sunday.
