LeBron James reset an NBA record he already owned in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 128-123 victory Wednesday over the Memphis Grizzlies.
The four-time MVP became the oldest player ever to register three straight triple-doubles, breaking the mark he established just over five years ago.
James finished with 35 points, 14 assists, 12 boards, and one steal in 37 minutes of action. It’s his 40th career 30-point triple-double.
James now has four triple-doubles on the season and ranks fifth all time with 116 over 22 seasons in the Association. The 39-year-old entered Wednesday’s matchup averaging 23.2 points, 8.9 assists, and 7.7 boards across 10 appearances.
L.A. won its third consecutive contest to improve to 6-0 at home and 7-4 overall.
