Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr. made his season debut in Memphis’ 124-111 Saturday win over the Orlando Magic.

The Michigan State product tallied 13 points and four rebounds in 22 minutes.

Jackson, 25, missed the Grizzlies’ first two contests of the season due to a hamstring injury suffered during training camp. The 2022-23 Defensive Player of the Year averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 66 games last season.

Backup center Jay Huff scored a career-high 18 points, including an acrobatic reverse dunk at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Memphis duo Ja Morant and Desmond Bane added 16 and 13 points, respectively.

This was the first time in 295 days that Jackson, Morant, and Bane had played together, according to Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian.

Magic wing Franz Wagner dropped a game-high 23 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists.

The Grizzlies move to 2-1 and will host the 1-2 Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Orlando also has a 2-1 record and will look to get back in the winning column Monday against the Indiana Pacers.
