Caitlin Clark made more history Friday evening in the Indiana Fever’s 78-74 defeat versus the Las Vegas Aces.

With her fifth assist of the contest, the rookie phenom broke Alyssa Thomas’ single-season WNBA record for assists.

Clark needed two fewer games than Thomas to set the new league mark.

Clark finished with 18 points, 10 assists, and eight boards in 34 minutes of action.

She entered the clash averaging a league-leading 8.4 dimes and has tallied at least 10 assists on 13 occasions, including a WNBA-record 19-assist performance against the Dallas Wings.

Clark is enjoying a historic debut campaign in the pros after a stellar collegiate career with Iowa. The floor general earned her maiden All-Star nod earlier this year and is the only first-year player to record multiple triple-doubles.

She leads her peers in triples (112) and ranks ninth in scoring (19.1 per game). Her strong play has lifted Indiana to its first playoff berth in eight years.
